Christmas Miracle

signsoflife encouraged me to post this, and she's usually right, so:
-December 24th, Christmas Eve. I'm running a few errands, and have foolishly volunteered to go to the mall and pick up an extra stocking. I realize my mistake as I approach the mall exit . . . lots of traffic.
-Eventually I make it around to the side of the mall closest to my destination. Parking, of course, is insane. I see a car pulling out of a spot, and position myself to pounce. Then I notice that another car was there before me. They pull forward a bit, and gesture toward the spot with a hint of irritation. I point at them, point at the spot, give them an okay gesture, and look for another one.
-I find another one, but someone else swoops in. I find a third, but someone else is already waiting. Then, from behind me, I hear a shout. Craning my neck around, I see that the guys from the first spot have parked and gotten out of their car, and are gesturing toward a bag-laden woman who is approaching her car.
-I hurry to turn around. Surely other cars are lying in wait. As I reverse direction, I see that the guys are holding the spot for me. I pull in, and wave a heartfelt thanks. They wave back, and head off to do their shopping.
-A minor Christmas miracle, I'd say.
