We've Got Movement

-Just had a phone interview for a 2+ month contracting gig in Framingham. I seem pretty well suited to the job, we'll have to see if I get a face-to-face. There was a mild bit of panic partway through; my father (the high-tech CFO) recommended that I ask $75 as an hourly rate. I thought that was kinda high, so I actually asked $60, at which point there was an awkward pause. The best my interviewer could offer was a fair piece lower. [sigh] Oh well, it'll be better than $zero/hour, which is what I'm making now.

-Speaking for me, I have an exhaustive knowledge of comic book and science fiction trivia, and am highly skilled at mixing the cliches thereof into new, more powerful forms. As a writer, I have the l33t ability to turn in correctly-spelled manuscripts on time. And I bake a mean cheesy biscuit.

Maybe I'm Just In a Good Mood

-Or maybe we have a really good batch of webcomics today. Regardless, I found Penny Arcade funny, though it helps to be a Transformers fan.

-The Eroticons, incidentally, were Buzzer, Whipcrack, Ironhard, and Deepdiver. They combined to form Dominator, who possessed all their powers and more.

Oh Yeah! (SpaceShipOne)

-SpaceShipOne has just become the first privately-owned, manned craft to soar beyond our atmosphere. Space flight is no longer solely in the hands of our governments. Read the story at CNN.

(Plus, I bought shares in SpaceDev years and years ago. They built the engines. Let's hope their stock does something obscene.)
