-Let's see, Friday was the in-person job interview for Job B, as previously reported. Saturday, lazed around the house a little too long, so when I drove up to Somerville, I managed to just miss doing ArtBeat with Jen/

anotherjen and Ilana. So, I got a haircut and picked up a balloon for the little blond, dropped by their place, and watched the John Cleese episode of The Muppet Show on Jen's new DVD player. It contained a bit where Miss Piggy was having a baby out of wedlock (no, not kidding), which surprised the heck out of us, but it apparently was a bonus added for the DVD release.

-Then, up to New Hampshire for Cris' barbecue. Saw many people I don't see anywhere near often enough. My oldest friends date from my college days, and it's a crying shame that I haven't been able to make more time for them. Maybe I should become president and pass laws that all my friends have to live within a couple miles of me.

-After New Hampshire, drove down to Salem (Mass.) for yet another party, held by Bey/

buxom_bey. Didn't get to spend enough 1-on-1 time with her, but for a lot of the party she was wreathed in flame (no, not kidding), and for much of the rest, she was doing that good hostess thing I so admire. But,

asciikitty and

alcinoe were there to ease my loneliness. Eventually I dragged my ass back to Milton and crashed.

-Sunday, got caught up on bills and keeping the apartment tidy. Drove up to Somerville again to go to Corwin's birthday party with Jen and Ilana. Ilana's actually becoming a likeable little person, though she still doesn't take instruction well. ("No, don't stick that in my face.") Jen's been having the blues lately, but we're both reasonably sure it's just random body chemistry fluctuations, so no hu-hu. Played Settlers at the party and got my ass kicked by Leftons: The Next Generation, grumble grumble.

-Today, I shall do . . . nothing! Bwa-ha-ha!
