A Time to Grow, and a Time to Prune
Jun. 24th, 2004 01:42 pm-Hmm. My LJ Friends list has grown to the point where eight hours of sleep between last-read-before-bedtime and first-read-after-getting-morning-caffeine generates more than one page of entries. Might be time to prune. Which I really don't wanna do, but most of my sitting-in-front-of-the-computer time should be devoted to Banestorm, which is due in exactly three weeks.
-Problem is that I don't particularly want to piss off those people who take LJ-friending lots more seriously than I. I'll probably start with some of the folk who haven't back-friended me, 'cause I know they can't get offended. Most of them have not done so for perfectly sensible reasons, I should note.
-The second group will probably be people I haven't actually met, especially where the connection is purely professional (whether I'm a fan of theirs, or they're a fan of mine, or whatever). E.g., I love Kovalic's stuff, but I don't need to read his LJ. My apologies to anyone who feels slighted.

Date: 2004-06-24 11:30 am (UTC)I then have other groups that I get to (or don't) depending on how the day is going. I do manage to hit everyone's blog at least once every day or so, I think, using that system, so I'm not out of touch or pissing anybody off, but I'm keeping it sane for me.
LJ communities are in their own group altogether, so I focus in personal journals more than community posts. If I have time, I'll get to the community journals, but they're last on the list.
I've also started filtering my posts more heavily, trying to keep in mind who'd be interested in reading whatever it is I'm posting, so I also don't take up some folks' morning coffee unnecessarily. I just started doing this the other day, and I think it'll make some folks quite happy.
