Photo Hosting

So, LJ's scrapbook feature no longer allows nested albums. I consider this very important for organizing my pictures. What are the alternatives?

I understand Picasa also does not allow nesting.

Flickr appears to have sets and collections. Sets contain photos. Collections can contain other collections or sets. That's an exclusive "or", so if you have a nesting structure, you can only have photos in the "leaves", but I can live with that, since this allows nesting.

Are there other solutions I should look at?

Flickr is probably your best option; it's also what libraries are using, and we usually spend some time considering our options. Though now that you remind me, I should probably get my images OUT of LJ and onto flickr. I don't think mine overlap at all.

I'm a flickr convert. It works well enough. I pay them money, they take care of my stuff. ::knock wood::

Did you leave picasa out of the equation for any particular reason? No, I don't actually know if they do what you need… but it seems an odd omission.
