X-Factor: Rampant Speculation

The most recent volume of Peter David's comic book X-Factor opens with Rahne Sinclair, the mutant Wolfsbane, being confronted by a demonic female creature calling herself the Sin-Eater. The issue at stake is the fate of Rahne's unborn child (half mutant, half god, all wolf). I'm wondering if this new Sin-Eater is someone we've met before. The first Sin-Eater was a perfectly human serial killer, from Peter David's run on Amazing Spider-Man, back in the 1980s. It occurs to me that the connection might be too obvious. Someone interested in Wolfsbane's child? Someone with a connection to the original Sin-Eater? Could this be the corrupted revenant form of the old Sin-Eater's most famous victim... Jean DeWolff?
