Got Some 80s On Me
Mar. 20th, 2012 10:31 amThe household watched the first episode of Bosom Buddies last night, largely to see Tom Hanks when he was young. There are a couple of scenes where Peter Scolari's character Henry asks Hanks' character Kip not to break up their writer-artist advertising team, because Kip has all the talent, and Henry has to work twice as hard just to ride his coattails.
There's a lot more subtext to that 32 years later, with Tom Hanks being Tom Hanks, and Peter Scolari having what might be described as a respectable but minor career doing voice work and supporting parts.
(And no, the show was not as funny as I remember.)

3. Definitely a case of Harsher/Hilarious in Hindsight (YMMV)
4. I think I remember watching it for Wendie Jo Sperber (Yes, even at age 2-3, I had a "type")
