Books: DC Reboot, Breaking It Down

Here is my attempt to break down the 52 new DC titles into Good, Middlin', and Bad. My standard of measurement is, "Am I interested in what happens next?" For the sheer intellectual exercise, I tried to make the three categories as equal in size as possible, so there are some fine gradations being lost, but... (I don't promise that these groups sync up with past reviews. Opinions may have shifted in flight.)

Of the ones I've ready, I agree. Except for Wonder Woman. I wasn't particularly impressed... I think I'd put her in the middlin' column.

Catwoman would have been better if it wasn't quite so "smut for a 12 year old". I mean, I like a topless woman as much as anyone, but I think it was a bit too much.

Detective has been my favorite of the lot so far.

Someone pointed out that they're kinda doing Wonder Woman as a horror comic. Given her tendency to interact with creepy-ass Greek myth, that actually makes a lot of sense, and might revitalize the character.

I'm right there with you on Catwoman. I liked it on first read. Then I read the rest of the 52, which sometimes seems jam-packed with strippers, hookers, joyless alien sex toys, and thong-wearing bunnygirls.
