Shortpacked! appears to agree with my criticism of the reboot Starfire.

Here are two ways to fix this, if I was writing it:

Evil Twin: Starfire has an evil twin, Blackfire, who at last report was alive and active. She can't fly, but get her a stolen Legion flight ring or douse her in cavorite, and that problem's fixed. She's sleeping with Todd, Arsenal, et al, to manipulate them into being her devoted team of super-soliders, and thus pawns in her latest crazy scheme. Her reasons for faking amnesia are obvious. Six issues in, the real Starfire shows up, thwarts, and berates Arsenal for thinking that idiot was her.

Brainwashing: Frankly, this is well within Jason Todd's morality, and not far outside his capability. Thus, he's brainwashed Starfire into being his pet weapon/sex toy. Six issues later, she shrugs it off, gets righteously pissed, and starbolts his heart out through his spine, ideally while shouting, "2666!"

One can hope...

(I'm a Teen Titans Go fan and right now... THERE IS NO COMIC, LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU. Like there's no second Highlander movie, and no Airbender live action movie.)

My comic-fu is too weak...what does '2666' have to do with the link?

Those were the last four digits one dialed to kill off Jason Todd the first time around.

What do we dial to kill off the writer and the editor?

The nice thing about comics is that eventually, really stupid stuff gets undone. I remember being even more outraged about what Armageddon 2001 did to Hawk and Dove than I am about Starfire now. This is probably about equal to my outrage when Hal Jordan went nuts, or some of the Legion retcons and reboots.

I'm going to put $5 on "the thing in RH&TO is a clone/duplicate with brain damage and the real Starfire is out in space somewhere." But I like the Blackfire idea.
