I hate to burst your bubble, but that death-grip thing comes standard in newborns. Probably left over from being cute little furry animals riding on and clinging to mama's back. :-)

Within, y'know, reason. Hanging the kid on the headboard is okay; bonding the kid to the teatless terrycloth doll gets creepy after the second or third time.
