If I've seen The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy, do I really need to see The Bourne Ultimatum?

I suppose not...

But I didn't think it was a waste of time either.

I have the whole series if you would prefer to borrow rather than rent it.

I liked it and it tied a bunch of stuff up. Is it a masterpiece of cinema that must be tracked down and seen? Probably not.

It was better than Supremacy and not as good as Identity. It does resolve a number of open questions and features tighter performances and less spectacle.

If you don't care about the questions/resolution then you're probably not missing a cinematic masterpiece.

At the very least you need to see the tour de force "stalker chase" through Waterloo Station.

I consider the whole trilogy to be very near best-of-breed; almost the spy-thriller equivalent of Leone's "Dollars" trilogy. (That said, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly is a cinematic masterpiece, and The Bourne Identity isn't.)

If you enjoyed the first two, I think you'd be quite pleased with the third. But if you're already asking if you "need" to see it, I gather you didn't, so you might as well skip the third as well. (I quite like the way some of the answers provided there recast scenes from the second movie as very different with the new context, but that's only interesting if you liked the second movie in the first place.)

Did you like the first 2 Bourne movies? I really enjoyed the whole series but if the first 2 just leave you feeling 'eh' then there's no pressing need to see the 3rd.

If you're in the mood for an action movie, Bourne is about 10,000 x better than Salt. Don't ever bother watching Salt if you still have a Bourne unwatched. Actually, I could say "Don't ever bother watching Salt" and just stop there.
