Last night [livejournal.com profile] buxom_bey and I were watching the Futurama episode "Jurassic Bark". (Available through Netflix Instant, episode 4.7.) She was rolling her eyes at some of the early dumbness, and I said, "They say if you don't cry at the end of 'Jurassic Bark', then you have no soul."

She rolled her eyes again, but 20 minutes later she turned to me with moist optics and said, "You weren't kidding! That was so sad!"

Trust the Jon!

(Episode 3.6, "The Luck Of The Fryrish", affects me similarly, for different reasons.)

That episode falls into the realm of things I truly wish I had never experienced. It haunts me, and when things are sad, I remember that episode, and everything seems that much worse. It's one of about five sad things that I can't get out of my head.

In the light of day, with lunch in my belly, I can handle it... but that's not really when I'm worried about it. I actually own the full run of Futurama, but there's no way I'm ever watching that episode again.
