I note that in a lot of those stories, one party or the other was drunk, which means the "miss" was probably for the best. And hey, women, if you've ever felt hurt by a guy rejecting you, read these tales, and you may discover how often we're just dumb (or insecure, or paranoid, or plain ol' scared). One bit of wisdom buried around comment 500 is, "If men are expected to get better at distinguishing 'being nice' from 'I want you now', women can get better at distinguishing 'I'm rejecting you' from 'I'm not getting the hint'."

Usually, in my case, it falls under "being nice", so they don't like me "that way".

The tutor story made me squirm. I'm kinda glad he missed that one.

Sometimes, it's better to not hit that. I find these stories an indication that men don't think with their dicks nearly as much as I thought they did.

Polite body-language and gentle words as if to someone with Asperger's can rarely go wrong for getting the message across. ("Hey, you're cute. Want to have lunch sometime and see if we click?")
