Having just read a mildly misleading article on returns on Boston.com, I figured I'd mention something:
Under Massachusetts law, if something you buy turns out to be damaged or otherwise "unfit for use", the merchant must offer you a full refund, and may not charge any fees. This includes things like CDs, software, electronics, etc. Many merchants have posted returns policies which are not in agreement with this law. Those policies are not enforceable.
