-In the interests of increased funds, of limited wall space, and of having fewer big breakables to pack, one of the following is gonna be sold on eBay:

-Problem is, I can't decide which one. "Romeo & Juliet" is more valuable, is signed by Chuck Jones, is part of a limited edition. It's also easier to hang on the wall in limited space, since it's vertical. I also feel vaguely more sad when I contemplate selling it. On the other hand, I'd like to make this decision on purely esthetic grounds: Which one do I actually like more? Problem is, I have trouble judging my own internal thoughts of that sort. I'm too practical. I mean, hell, the fact that "Romeo & Juliet" is easier to hang should be the lowest possible consideration on the list, and yet it intrudes whenever I ask myself, "Yeah, but do I like it?" Grumble, grumble.

(Maybe I should sell 'em both . . .)

Awwww! I would have a hard time selling either, but I'm an art-hoarder.

I bet you like the romeo and juliet one slightly more because it's in color? I certainly would.

(And there's no reason to insist on convenience of hanging for viewing as not being valid.)

where did the horizontal one come from?

I would make the decision based on sentiment. Which one holds more sentimental value? I like the horizontal one better (I am not in the market for it, tho). Maybe you should set a high reserve and see what the eBay market is like?

-It came from a Warner Bros. Studio Store, probably the one that used to be in the Burlington Mall.

(And judging sentimental value is very tricky for me.)

Frankly, the WB noir picture strikes me as grossly affected.

-So it suits me well?

Ouch. Hey, what's the point of having a kid sister if you manufacture your own sharpest barbs?

[grin] Anyway, why do cartoon characters posing as Romeo and Juliet come off as less affected?

I find the R&J piece inferior as the characters look little like they did in the classic Looney Tunes, which of course is ironic because R&J were rendered by Chuck personally (?)
Also, I never understood why Pepe and the cat were placed in this scenario? The whole point of the Pepe & Cat cartoons was that the cat tried to keep away from Pepe- in this piece, the cat looks like she's in love with him?

-Chuck's style, uh, "evolved" in later years.
