Dr. Horrible & Lex Luthor

Just finished watching Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog.

The thing is, the way Dr. Horrible sees Captain Hammer? It's just like how Lex Luthor sees Superman. As this big, dumb, muscle-bound phony who is patronizing to people while saving them. And he can't understand why everyone else falls for it.

One take on Luthor that I like is that everyone sees Superman as a father figure.

So does Lex Luthor.

There was a recent series down from Lex Luthor's point of view about Superman. He did see him as a patronizing father figure but it was more that as long as Superman is around the human race will never grow up, solve it's own problems or evolve in any significant way. He see him as an obstacle to human progress.

Actually, I think that in this case Captain Hammer really is meant to be this big, dumb muscle-bound moron riding by on his strength and his looks...maybe phony isn't quite the right word but definitely self-absorbed...

I thought that the whole story actually told from the point of view of the "bad guy" was a wonderful juxtaposition. And marvellously fun.
