Mmm. It's gorgeous, isn't it? And more to the point, the production designer clearly regards Gibbons's original art with awe and reverence.

But...

There's going to be more to a best superhero movie ever than fidelity to original art. Daredevil was impressively faithful to the imagery of Frank Miller c.1980 Daredevil, but - while I personally didn't think it was too bad - it doesn't make many people's top 5, does it?

The trailer is brilliantly designed to make people who love the original comics want to buy their tickets right now. I'm honestly impressed myself. But hyper-real visuals and a rather second-string cast may not a perfect movie make. We'll see.
