Got my Samsung Instinct Thursday, activated it yesterday, am cheerfully exploring its features today. It's basically Samsung's high-end, does-some-things-better-than-the-iPhone, iClone. Thus far, some of its features work great (like the ability to transfer files easily from my computer to the SD card, and the touch interface in general), some work middling-well (like the GPS maps, which can take a minute to refresh), and some don't seem to be activated yet (like the web browser). Regardless, it's very shiny, it's a huge upgrade over my seven-year old Sanyo SCP-4500 and, unlike the iPhone, I could actually get one . . .

Interesting! I have been coveting an iPhone or one of the clones for a while and am out of contract relatively soon. If I run into you at an event I'd love to see what it does and how well.

Also, do you know which carriers work with the phone?

Oh, noes, don't make me show off my new toy!

At the moment, in the US, the Instinct is Sprint-only.

I was wondering how well the Instinct worked. I have a Katana, but was considering upgrading to an Instinct, but I am dubious of untested technology.

I love the commercial where the two federal agents are interrogating a bad guy about his Instinct phone and one agent taunts the suspect with "Why dontcha record a video and send it to your mama?" It makes me laugh every time! --Nathaniel
