Marblehead Fireworks
Jul. 5th, 2008 01:48 pmFor the Fourth, my folks invited us to join them on their boat, the Fintry, to watch the Marblehead fireworks from the harbor. They anchored just outside the safety limit from the fireworks barge, so when the time came, they were going off right overhead. I think I had ash fall on me a couple times.

buxom_bey fixes her hair on the launch out to the Fintry. S&P lurk in the background.

That's the fireworks barge, with K. in the foreground.

Me mum.

Me dad.

freedomthrufire, with glow-poi.

A panoramic shot from the topdeck. Don't forget to scroll right.

Another panoramic, after the sun set and they lit the flares.

My camera has a fireworks setting. Who knew?
These were taken from a rocking boat, so they've all got wiggle in 'em.

Some of them have parts of the boat in the foreground, like the cables and running lights.

Note spectator silhouettes in foreground.

Mostly, I was watching the fireworks with my eyes, while pointing the camera in approx. the right direction and pressing the button every so often. Ergo, framing was often a bit off.

freedomthrufire and S. on the maindeck, lit by the fireworks. This photo and some of the others by Bey.

One of the fireworks being shot from the barge.

Bey calls this the Smiley Face picture.

Yes, well, moving boat, moving arm . . .

The barge, towards the end.

Boom!
Here's the full gallery, friends-locked I'm afraid.
