-Note to self: When you're trying to write 7,200 words on a topic, and you've got 7,500, and you still need to touch on a couple points, and this is the pre-co-author-getting-a-look-at-it, pre-first draft, what is the best use of your time?

A) Trying to cut 300 words out of it somewhere, because 4% over budget makes such a difference.

B) Finishing off those last couple topics briefly, and sending it to your co-author.

(Hint: Don't pick A.)

What was the middle thing?

I would go nuts counting words like that. I guess I would C) Finish writing the "couple of points" before considering length...

-The complication is that I actually enjoy editing for length. Going through a paragraph and seeing how much I can cut without changing the meeting is a fun intellectual challenge. However, at the moment it is not the best use of my time.
