-I recently went through the family photos to dig up some pictures of me age 18. I figure they'll be good inspiration to eat a little better and exercise a little more. I'll never look this good again, but movement in that direction can only be good.

Army Reserve basic training graduation.

Off to college. That's my father on the right.

In my dorm room. I blame Simon LeBon.

Are you sure that third one isn't Simon LeBon?

DS (Damn Straight)!
You do have a certain Morrissey-esque quality in these pics, but I like the current look better. More towering-but-still-huggable. I can't equate your personality with the popstar look of the eighties.

-Well, I had a different personality 17 years ago. (My current one is an improvement, trust me.)

We were all thinner in the 1980s

It does make for good inspiration, but remember, your metabolism was burning a lot more fat calories in 1987. I remember how we ate back then! Pizza & Weaver Chicken Croquettes come to mind...Sometime in the early twenties (for me), my diet stayed the same yet I gained weight! Damn you, metabolism!

Weaver Chicken Croquettes

-Y'know, they changed the recipe for those. They're all rubbery now. Bleah.

You could come running with me ;-)

I am amused - the first two are much more serious than I've ever seen you looking, and the third is hilarious...

Oh, and you were too damn thin when you graduated basic training. Mom nearly had a heart attack.

-I don't think I was unhealthily thin. I never went hungry in BT, I just got a lot of exercise. It wasn't a maintainable weight (not without a drill sergeant yelling at me daily), but it sure wasn't 'cause I was starving myself.
