Planning a Wedding Has its Ups and Downs

This evening began with another dance lesson, which was a delight. We got through the whole song twice, complete with flourishy bits at the beginning and end. It raised our spirits immensely.

Then we came home and worked on Seating, Assigning Tasks, and the Master Schedule. And, 'cause we're both control freaks, a third party would have been vastly amused at the way our hands kept twitching with the desire to Do It My Way, Darnit!

This is why people take a vacation right after their wedding . . .

Tara and I just said "fuck it, we'll concentrate on getting a great venue, looking fabulous and having a good time, and rely on the fact that our friends and relatives know us well enough to know that we'll skin them alive with our teeth if they don't all sit in exactly the right places without having to be told."

And they did, thus confirming my opinion that in the absence of organisation, fear of reprisals works just as well.

Some people take the vacation six months before the wedding. Because they can. We were also fortunate to have an excellent crew of friends to whom we could designate things and just cease worrying about them.
