This Week's Comics...
Jul. 16th, 2003 05:43 pm-Hawkman, which is a reliable title from a writer (Johns) who understands comics history (and can even make sense of the weird bits). The first issue of the new Teen Titans title, also by Johns, looks like it will be good (plus Starfire on the cover, mrrow!). Girl Genius by the Foglios, always fun. Captain Marvel by Peter David, which has been dark and weird lately. If it wasn't David I'd have dropped it, but he gets some slack from me. Dork Tower by Kovalic, fun if thin. I decided to test-drive the Human Torch series, and while it's solidly written, it's not exciting enough to get me to pick it up again.
-And, lastly, Runaways, which I highly recommend. (It was recommended to me by Jim at New England Comics.) What if you were a teenager who just discovered your parents were supervillains? How would your world change? Good title.
