Half of What, Exactly?

-I just noticed that my publisher's preferred style guide changed from UPI to AP at some point. Amazon.com is selling the AP Stylebook for $12.25, and I can get free shipping if I spend another $12.75. The cheapest the same book is available on Half.com is $11.59, and no free shipping. So I'd end up paying more through Half.com. [sigh]

That point was some time before 2000, as that's when I started working there and they'd been using AP for a while even back then.

If you don't have anything in mind for the other $12.75, I'm thinking of getting another copy of The Purpose-Driven Life: What on Earth Am I Here For? by Rick Warren (Hardcover).
