-That phone interview just ended. I was speaking to the hiring manager, who seemed concerned that I was overqualified for the position, and would leave them after a month for a better-paying job. She repeatedly explained that the job would not use all of my skills, and that I might get bored. Meanwhile, I'm sitting here thinking, "Lady, if I don't get this job, I'm gonna be eating my comic book collection in lieu of food. And anyone who might hire me away from you hasn't spoken up during the past year. Gimme the job and I can promise you puppy-dog-like loyalty, dammit!"
-Still, I think I managed to reassure her. I believe one of the last things I said was, "Given the current job market, and that the position as you describe it has the possibility of advancement, I can feel confident in saying I would be with you for a long time." So, I suspect it went well. I'll be hearing back from the HR person eventually.
