Calling all librarians, book reviewers, library board members, and friends/family of librarians and book reviewers (especially Booklist, Publishers Weekly, Library Journal, and Choice:

Encyclopedia of Fantastic Victoriana, by Jess Nevins

This book needs more librarian eyes looking at it: it's a scholarly reference work on a fascinating genre of fiction, written with style and aplomb.

This book needs more reviews in the book and literature-specific magazines, websites, and blogs; it shows the breadth and depth of a rich and fading history.

This book needs more library shelves to grace; it will illuminate and educate all who read it.

I got it for christmas and read through it every night. It's an awesome compendium of unimaginable contents; you think you're getting something and it always ends up being so much more then that.

I'm on a mailing list that counts a few librarians as members, and I sent this to the list. It sounds like a fascinating book, something that I might want to consider myself once I've moved. Sadly, buying new books a few months before a major move makes no sense when I'm going to be looking to unload a bunch.
