. . . But it bears repeating. I am blessed to count among my friends some really fabulous people.

-Hmm. I think I need to see It's a Wonderful Life again.

If you're inclined for company, that could be a great movie night. I've seen it all, but not in one sitting. I keep meaning too.

-It's currently around #300 in my NetFlix queue, so it won't be soon . . .

*snort*

Right, if I still haven't seen it after Christmas 2006, I'll check in with you to see where it is in your queue.

Now there's an interesting idea for a meme. First 20-50 things in your netflix queue. Lots of idea sharing, anyway.

Conceit

It's a Wonderful Life is a sucky socialist FDR-inspired piece of Capra claptrap.

But that's not what I'm here to talk about. I'm here to talk about the central conceit of the movie: life in general would have sucked without George Bailey performing his routine sacrifices.

That's cheating, and it's disturbing to believe that heaven is populated with such corrupt angels.

Show George Bailey what his life would have been like if he had left town and gone to college to become an architect!

Oh, wait. They did make that movie.

The previous snarkage should not be taken to mean that the writer believes that [livejournal.com profile] woodwardiocom does not have fabulous friends. Nor should it be taken to mean that the writer believes that [livejournal.com profile] woodwardiocom is not blessed in this regard.

In point of fact, the writer should be publicly grateful for having fabulous friends on a more regular basis himself.

Thank you. I had an excellent time as well. I just wasn't sure you were talking about me. Sometimes it's not all about me. Sometimes :)

-It's not all about you. But you're on the list, for real, for sure.
