-Friday, took care of maintenance around the home.
-Saturday was
scholargipsy's going-away/early Halloween party. Dressed up for it as previously recounted. Lot of people there I didn't know, some I did, and was good to see them all. At one point I was introduced to the custom of passing around a pumpkin with cloves in it, with the giver and givee then kissing. (I understand it is usually done with an orange.) This delightful tradtion led to me kissing four women I hadn't before, two of whom I met that night. I approve wholeheartedly; kissing is a goodness. Oh, and my costume met with general approval. Still, ended the night feeling a bit angsty, but that was probably just my id gettin' grumpy. Bad id, no biscuit for you. Thank you,
scholargipsy and
pheromone, for a lovely party.
-Sunday, today, was my mother's 60th birthday. The family attended her 10 o'clock service (Mom's an Episcopalian priest), at which I noted that we're an astonishingly good-looking bunch when we dress up. I wore my beige blazer with a dark blue shirt and the floral-print tie Mom gave me 15 years ago, and it's a look I'm going to have to use again. The blazer really sets off the shirt. Then, home, where we cooked lunch for her (I made my cheesy biscuits), and we watched the Sox lose and the Patriots win. Always good to spend tme with my family.
-And tomorrow, the first day of my new job, and a dinner date. Glee!
