-I originally got the goggles from Restoration Hardware. They were the big hit of the costume. I don't know if RH still sells them.

(Oh, and I was also repeatedly identified as a Son of Ether, from the RPG Mage.)

More Blade than Spike. Not bad, though.

-My father said the same thing. Can't I be a happy pulp hero?

In the last picture, actually, you look like a pulp villain, or at best an anti-hero (see, not too far off Riddick after all). The smile is a big part of that. It looks cynical and smug.

Only clean-shaven people are alowed to be happy in pulp.

Okay, well, not really. Just in my memory of the game. Some pics:

It had to be the goggles. And the shape of the coat if not the color. You should totally grow your mustache out like him, though.

Dude, the goggles are quintessential Son of Ether.

And I like it. A lot.

-It's a pity the goggles cut off my peripheral vision so much, or I'd get smoked prescription lenses made, and wear them a lot more often.

mm. a friend of mine was talking about wiring a pair of those with EL wire, but couldn't decide whether to go for the eerie look of lighting the inside, but limiting the wearer's vision, or having the wearer see fine and have the somewhat more boring look of wire on the outside.

-I would go for the outside. Part of the appeal of those goggles is that they hide the eyes. If you light up the inside, the wearer's eyes are going to be more obvious -- they'll basically be in a lit-up display case!
