-Well, that's four pages of script for HBG done. (I'll call it just "HBG" for the present. I shouldn't publicize it too much on the Web until I've nailed the IP rights down some more. So, for now, it gets a codename. I'll have to do that with a bunch of things I'm working on, thanks to NDAs and such.) Writing a comic book script is finicky, and I'm having a devil of a time making conversation visually interesting. At least I've got a fight scene coming up in a few pages.
-I recently finished reading Life With Jeeves, a collection of three of P.G. Wodehouse's Jeeves books. It's fun stuff, and I'm going to try and adopt a few of Bertie's verbal ticks (e.g., frequent use of abbreviations like "circs" for circumstances, and substituting the adjective for the noun, as in "stately" instead of "Wayne Manor"), but it gets a bit thick after 500 pages. This particular volume also ends with a novel, and I think Jeeves works better in the short story format. Still, recommended. (If you're new to Jeeves, start with Carry On, Jeeves.) Now I'm reading the "Trek" novel Uhura's Song, and Am Not Impressed thus far. Lots of cat-fetishism; the cat-culture infodump 'round page 60 had better be important or it's eBay for this baby. Which would be a pity; a good Uhura-centric book would be nice. Further Bulletins As Events Warrant.
