1. Crazed close-up.

2. Classic, colorized.

3. Red shirt.

4. Pulp, with goggles.

5. The current b&w one.

-Note that I'm looking for a default icon, not a mood-specific icon. If you think more than one is equally good, you can check more than one.

To me, the pulp with goggle look on your face (it's the wicked smile) that reminds me the most of the you I run into on most days. Otherwise, the colorized trad one also reminds me of you. *hug* -H...

Pulp-with-goggles conveys a lot of personality, and you should use it often, but if one of your goals is to be recognizable from your icon, it's sub-optimal as a default.

I voted, but I think you need more and different photos. You seem a bit stiff and posed in them, in a way that isn't flattering. The one you have seems ever so slightly crazy/mischievous, so I like it, but I think you can do better.

I also think I need to have more interesting icons on here, and I might if someone left me alone with a digital camera (no, nothing that fun, I just mean making faces at the camera for different moods, like some have)...so take that as you will.

-It's usually easier if someone else takes the pictures. Regardless, I'll give you a head start . . . [Jon burrows through his hard drive, grabs some random party pictures that have Kat in them, and crops them to 100x100] There, five minutes' work:

Hm. I like some of those. Thanks!

Now I need one of me looking angry enough to kill, or sarcastic.

I like taking my own because I'm less self-conscious. That's how I ended up with my wacky green icon, anyway. And maybe I would've liked the me-in-a-mask pics better if I had taken them myself... hrmm. Anyway, those are some hellacute pics of Kat you've got there. I like the laughing #4 the best.

Why, isn't that the whole point of LJ? :)

Were it not, we'd all be scribbling in lockable notebooks.

jftr, voted for pulp and current.

I like the current one because I'm never really sure what that expression means-- it might be amused, it might be suspicious, it might be daring...

"pulp" is also somewhat ambiguous. And I think a default icon needs to be that. Or at least versatile.
