-Sang for the first time in public at Jen/
anotherjen's birthday karaoke party. I chose Seger's "Old Time Rock N Roll", 'cause I knew my minimal talent could handle it. I've determined the three rules for doing karaoke when you can't sing are: 1) Hold the mike close to your mouth, 2) sing loud, and 3) watch the screen so you hit the beats right. (This usually means starting before you think you should. When one is singing along with songs on the radio, one usually misses the first syllable of each line, and joins the singer once they've already started. For karaoke, you've gotta curb that impulse.)
-The only other kind of song I can handle (other than loud and raspy) is deep and soulful. Unfortunately, the songbook didn't have "Superman's Song" by the Crash Test Dummies. Don't know what I'll sing next time...
