-Tuesday morning, visited a comics retailer in Tewksbury, picked up around 50 posters for a little more than I wanted to pay. On the other hand, the two signed & numbered Joe Jusko Tarzan lithos may go for a lot of money, so that'll make up for it. And, today, bought some very nice 1983 Teen Titans posters off a friend, and I've got a potential buyer for one already, at an outrageous price. So, win win.
-Tuesday afternoon, had fabulous date with fabulous Jen, marred only briefly by bumping into my ex, at which point I tried to turn invisible with limited success. Wish her all the best; it was just me feeling on-the-spot I guess.

-Decided I would use LJ to preserve (unsaleable) cute bits of fiction or whatever I come up with and want to keep for posterity. The premise behind the following is that Johnny Storm of the Fantastic Four has to make small talk with Doctor Doom for some reason (possibly they have to team up to save the Earth from a cosmic menace, and at the moment are waiting for the defensive cookies to come out of the oven).

Johnny: So, seen any good movies lately?

Doom: [glares]

Johnny: No, I guess not. I just saw The Lord of the Rings; I thought it was pretty good.

Doom: I have read the book.

Johnny: You have? Uh...

Doom: I have no time for film, but I read very quickly. I also want to keep current on major works of literature.

Johnny: Ah. So, what did you think of it?

Doom: I thought his premise was fundamentally flawed.

Johnny: Um, how so?

Doom: The notion that there exists a source of power, which cannot be controlled by a sufficiently determined will, is sheer fantasy.

Johnny: Well, it was...

Doom: Yes, I know it was intended as "fantasy", though not in that sense. Regardless, I was able to suspend my disbelief, and found it moderately enjoyable.

Johnny: That's surprising.

Doom: Why, because some would equate me with Sauron? Fools. Sauron sought control through destruction. I never destroy needlessly. You have been to Latveria. Tell me, which does it more closely resemble, Mordor, or the Shire?
