-I'm usually pretty politically apathetic. This time, however, I think the upcoming election's kinda important. So, I registered to vote today.

(Of course, seeing as how I live in Massachusetts, I already know where our electoral votes are going, but still.)

-That's fair. With this election, it's become clear to me that being politically apathetic won't cut it any more.

(There's actually a story about what got me disillusioned with voting, but it's not really for LJ. Remind me, and I'll tell you next time I see you.)

There's a saying that "all politics is local" and that seems to be particularly true in eastern MA. You might want to find out what local and statewide candidates you have the chance to vote for or against and make some difference there.
