Cute cartoon, but can you stop doing those goofy cuts. Most everyone you know is probably on broadband and they just mean extra clicks for our tired carpalled out paws.
Many of us don't know what sort of material we're going to see in friends' journals, and having the cut means we can mentally decide whether we're going to open something at work, wait until a more work-safe environment, or just skip it entirely.
What is it with people reading LJ at work? I've kind of been out of the office world since before there were things like LJ, but it seems like it would not have changed so much that that sort of personal surfing would be encouraged. What do office policies on this sort of thing tend to be?
Well, I'm a technical writer for the IT industry; IT shops have always been pretty loose about such things, historically. A large part of our time is spent online doing reserach, and the line between work-related browsing and personal browsing gets blurred.
I've seen offices where people used their desk phones to make calls for doctors appointments, bank transactions, and other personal errands; it's not really any different. My bosses in particular don't really care as long as the work gets done on-time.
I'm definitely among those trapped in dialup most of the time (when I can get to a wireless point, like the cafes, I get some broadband, but that's only for one or two days a week).
Cutting for visuals/comics is perfectly reasonable, and I do it myself as well.

And, well, I'm just faintly boggled... This is the first time I have ever seen anyone ask for fewer cuts.
