-However, I don't think the subject of Firefly has ever come up around him. I think I know what he's getting for Christmas . . .

I love firefly

But I find Buffy unappealing enough that it's hard to even get into it. I've successfully watched 1, maybe 2, episodes. It's too well, fake, for my tastes. (Firefly has the advantage of not being set in a comparable era.)

Ooh, you trickster. I admit, I thought Buffy was kind of lame until I started watching it (hence my main experience with it has been via dvd). The effects aren't spectacular, but it's the characters and the storylines that hook ya. Now I'm hardcore (and will dance around my house singing the BuffyBuffyBuffy song when a new set of dvds arrives). Firefly is the next thing on my list to get.

The userpic probably speaks for itself, but I'd just like to say that the show should have been cancelled after the fifth season. It had nowhere to go but down.

(And "Once More, With Feeling" is not a good counterargument to the above, so don't even go there.)
