Toys R Where?

-Hey, what's the deal with three (at least) Toys R Us stores closing in the greater Boston area? (Each claiming, "This Location Only," please note.)

Yeah they are closing the one here in my town. The manager told me the reason its being closed is that they found that the land it sets on is worth more than what the store makes in three years. He said that they are doing it all over the country. Personally I think on-line sales of toys this Christmas killed them.

The one at the Holyoke mall (Ingleside, I guess technically, but everyone I know calls it the Holyoke mall) is closing as well.

Maybe some of the smaller privately owned toy stores that were put out of business by the behemouth corporate toys-r-us chain will reopen in the area now. I'm always willing to support the little guy.

Sorry, but now Toys-R-Us is the little guy losing out to the behemoth (Wallmart). This is not a hopeful sign for small stores.
