-Steve Jackson has posted his annual Report to the Stakeholders. If you have any interest in the gaming industry, it's a useful read. (Especially since the number of game publishers who routinely talk to the public about their business, with this degree of candor, can be counted on one hand, with fingers left over to draw cards.) Short version: Munchkin = $$$, and they need to hire more good people.
-What bearing does it have on me, personally? Well, GURPS Fantastic Cities, which has been at the pre-playtest stage for a while now, is not specifically mentioned, but on the list of priorities, "new GURPS releases" clocks in at number four. We'll wait and see what happens there. (The two problems are that the first draft, particularly my half, was a little rushed, and that SJGames doesn't have enough staff to address that issue right now.)
-On the other hand, I've got a bunch of ideas for smaller products I'd like to see published by SJGames, such as PDF releases for GURPS and D&D, and a card game, and SJGames will continue to exist and be interested in that kind of thing. This is good.
-Overall, I remain optimistic.
