Charles Addams: A Cartoonist's Life by Linda Davis

-An interesting biography of Charles Addams, the New Yorker cartoonist who created the Addams Family. And my goodness, but he was a player — entirely apart from his three marriages, he apparently was involved with Greta Garbo, Joan Fontaine, and Jackie Kennedy. At roughly the same time. Sheesh! A bit which stuck with me was the description of how he continued to attend art meetings at The New Yorker into the 1980s, by which point he'd been working with them for 50 years, and was unquestionably the most famous cartoonist they'd ever had (with the possible exception of Thurber). The younger artists apparently regarded him in much the same way one would Moses, if he came to your temple. Oh, and did you know he did around 1,800 cartoons for NY alone? Anyway, highly recommended if you have any interest in the topic.

Star Wars: Tag & Bink Were Here by Rubio and Marangon

-This graphic novel is an authorized spoof of the SW universe, featuring two Rebellion officers, Tag and Bink, who are on the Tantive IV when Leia is captured, and end up pratfalling their way through the background of most of the major events of the original trilogy. Usually in disguise as stormtroopers. My favorite bit might be when they show up on Yavin two months too late for the "We blew up the Death Star!" ceremony, and stumble across Chewie's medal . . . Plus, there's a sorta-cameo by Skippy the Jedi Droid. If you're a SW fan, highly recommended.

(Helpful hint: Tag has the longer brown hair, Bink has the short black hair.)
