First Dragon*Con Snippets
Sep. 4th, 2006 10:30 pm-Back in July of '05, I met Marv Wolfman at CONvergence. He complimented me on my Crisis on Infinite Earths website. Well, at Dragon*Con this weekend, I got to meet George Perez. Who said that my webite was "excellent work".
-Duuude. I so rock.
-At one point, I bumped into a guy who looked vaguely familiar. I asked him, "Would you be James Leary?" (Clem on Buffy.)
"Yep!"
"Excellent! I'd be Jonathan Woodward."
-He looked taken aback, and said, "No, you're not!" I figured out he was thinking of the actor. I clarified, and he went on to say, "He's a great guy. Crazy, but great."
-I said, "Nice boots," to Jennie Breeden. [snicker]
-David Lloyd (the artist of V for Vendetta, among others) is a bit cranky about how the comics industry currently works. But he did a sketch of V in my copy of the book, so I'm ver' pleased.
-So, I'm in line to get an autograph from a comics professional, and the fan ahead of me says to the guy behind the table, "Mr. Perez, I've been a big fan for many years. I think your work on Teen Titans was extraordinary."
-The guy behind the table replies to him, "Son, in your career as a fan, this is going to be one of those moments you look back on with embarrassment and chagrin. I'm Peter David."
(Amusingly, when it was my turn I asked Mr. David to sign one of the few things he and Perez have worked on together, the novel What Savage Beast.)
-Lee Meriwether (Catwoman)? 71 years old and still Teh Hott.
-Clare Kramer (Glory)? Cute as a frickin' button.
