-A couple of the reviews of Superman Returns seem to be startled and cranky that there's a Superman = Jesus metaphor in it.
-To which I reply: Well, duh. Supes has been a Jesus-figure since, well, not since Action #1, but certainly since the first time they explored his Kryptonian origins in any depth, which would be the early 1940s.
(I gotta admit, though, that some of the posters for SR are juvenile-snicker-worthy. "Hey, Supes, is that an amusingly-juxtaposed Florida in your poster, or are you just happy to see me?")
