Hey, Where's Jon?
Apr. 24th, 2006 09:55 am-I haven't posted much lately because A) at the office I'm still working on my First Impression (I don't start spending a lot of time on LJ until they realize how godlike I am), and B) at home my mouse is still on the left, which is good for my hands, but doesn't encourage me to spend a lot of time on the computer. But, right now I'm in a good spot project-wise at work, so, working roughly backwards in time:

buxom_bey and I have now been living together for about two months, and things are still great. Yesterday we picked up a new red-n-gold bed set that matches our existing decor. (By "we" I mean "she picked it out, while I loitered nearby reading a Gaiman graphic novel, and providing feedback when requested".) It finally lets us use the fabulous red modal sheets I bought for her last year. I joked that we needed to invite someone over Right Away to show off how pretty it is . . .
-She and I joined a gym. This should prove interesting, one way or the other.
-I'm about 80 pages from the end of Stephenson's System of the World. I may finish it off tonight, thus completing a trilogy the size of The Lord of the Rings, twice over.
-Went to assorted parties on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. The invite for the third was entertainingly minimalist, in that it left out the type of event it was, the fact that the house had cats (relevant to those of us more allergy-ridden than some), and what town the address was in . . . (I guess I'm used to my more geeky friends, whose invites are several pages long, and cover every possible aspect of concern.)
. . . So, life continues to be good.
