-Ten days ago was Bey/
buxom_bey's Halloween party, of which you have seen photographic evidence. I had a lot of fun. The best part for me, actually, was when the party was winding down, and the survivors went out to Denny's for a 1am breakfast. I must have some deep psychological need that is filled by having good friends to go to breakfast with at odd hours of the morning. Probably because I didn't have many for a long time.
-The next morning also falls into the "deep psychological need fulfilled" category, because Bey and
doeeyedbunny and I, after observing that it was snowing in October, curled up on the couch with cocoa and watched Firefly. (Okay, technically, they had cocoa, and I had Mt. Dew, but I only have one serving of caffeine a day, and that was it.) Couch+cocoa+cuddling+something geeky on television is another definition of happiness for me.
(Note to self: Possible to find apartment with fireplace in Greater Somerville Area? With reasonable rent?)
-Eventually tore myself away from Bey's place to travel through the slush to another party, at which there was flirting and pretty women and food in odd places. And D&D on Sunday, at which we finally finished the combat that we've been grinding our way through for the past few months, and our characters got to go to sleep. And, since we scored something like 5,000 XP each in that combat, my Ranger not only made 6th level, he's now within sight of 7th.
-This past Friday, I finally convinced Bey that "Macross" was the same thing as "Robotech", and got to listen to her squeals of nostalgia and "Oh yeah, I remember that!" And we reiterated the 10th Rule of Anime: "Minmay is a bimbo."
-Saturday, a dinner party at a friend's home, with yummy steak in mustard sauce and potatoes and salad and popovers . . . mmm, oh yeah. And I appear to have mastered the skill of artful lingering through offering to help with the dishes . . .
-And Sunday, D&D again, during which we mostly gathered loot. "Umm, are we likely to need 800 crossbow quarrels?"
