Thankful Thursday

-At shadesong's direction, here are ten things I'm thankful for:

1. Ever and always, Bey/buxom_bey. When I feel my jaw muscles getting tense, I just think of her, and my whole face relaxes. She is my nepenthe and my lady-love.
   
2. Yesterday was my weekly visit to Harvard Square, to pick up comics at the Picnic and stop by Pandemonium. As I checked out the new gaming releases, someone came up beside me. It was ricevermicelli, who had been lying in wait for me. I am delighted to have in her a friend who knows my schedule and uses it to surprise me.
   
3. And, speaking of the Square, the fact that the clerks at those stores (Jason, Tony, Jamie, et al) know me and exchange witty banter with me is always a pleasant reminder that my home is here in Boston, and that I have a good place in it.
   
4. I am thankful Annie/asciikitty and I remain dear friends.
   
5. I am thankful for Zeph/cathijosephine's smiles.
   
6. I am thankful for X-Men geeking with doeeyedbunny.
   
7. I am looking forward to a holiday season that promises to be full of friends and fun and food.
   
8. The fall foliage here in New England is gorgeous. As ever.
   
9. I'm getting out of debt at a steady pace.
   
10. I have more and better friends than I ever expected to have while growing up, and I'm thankful for you all.
    

Interviews

-With regards to those interview memes that are going around, if anyone wants to ask me questions about myself, go ahead. I'm a ravening ego-whore, and "me" is my favorite topic.

Why Polyamory?

fotofile2002 asks me, "Why polyamory?"

-I rarely get jealous. (When I do, it usually indicates that the relationship is troubled in some way.) I've been this way since high school — I recall one of my girlfriends at the time cheating on me, and I was just amused at the idea that I was supposed to feel threatened. So, I have no problem with the women in my life having other lovers (assuming all else is well).

-I seem to have a lot of love to give. I can love Bey with my whole heart, and still have vast amounts of adoration for others. I like to be involved in their lives, to celebrate with them when they're doing well, to help them when they're down.

-Plus, dude, there are the obvious, not-too-deep reasons. I like beautiful, intelligent, sexy, caring women. More than one? Yes please!
