-So, the new movie, A Sound of Thunder, which is allegedly causing disturbances on the site Bradbury will someday be buried, is getting poor reviews.

-Instead of going to see it, I thought it might be more fun to predict the barbs movie reviewers are going to sling in its direction:

  • "A Sound of Blunder"
  • "As waves of temporal change careen across the screen, you keep hoping they will replace the director with an alternate version who has a shred of talent."
  • "The special effects convince you time travel is possible, since they seem to date from the early 80s."
  • "History gets repeatedly rewritten, becoming worse each time — rather like the script, which has no less than six names attached to it."
  • "The director's best previous film is 2010 — a year he might want to time-travel to, since by then people may have forgotten about this travesty."

-Today I finally got around to flipping my Hellboy calendar over to September. The picture for this month is of Abe Sapien.

-I immediately flashed on what a cool Hellboy/BPRD story you could get out of Abe swimming through submerged New Orleans, looking for people to rescue, and encountering the roused ghosts of voodoo priestesses and such.

(At this point, such a story would be in very poor taste, of course.)
