-Thursday, had a lovely dinner date with Zeph/[livejournal.com profile] cathijosephine, in which we dropped off some stuff she was donating to Urban Renewals, had some Indian food across the street from there, and then went back to her place, where I supervised while she cleaned. I discovered this can be dangerous, as she tends to pile stuff everywhere, including upon guests.

-Friday, Bey/[livejournal.com profile] buxom_bey, Blue/[livejournal.com profile] bluegargantua, Annie/[livejournal.com profile] asciikitty, and I had dinner together, and went to see Thoroughly Modern Millie at NSMT. I was slow warming up to it, as it was done in a slightly campy style, but once I got into the mood, it was a lot of fun. I was particularly delighted with "The Speed Test", which I'd encountered on the radio at some point, and always wanted to hear again. I'm a sucker for zippy songs. And for that hep 1920's ambience, so, overall, a big win, especially considering the company. Annie and Bey looked beautiful, and Tom and I were in fine form, provoking constant exchanges of "They're your boyfriends," "No, they're your boyfriends."

-Saturday, Bey and I did some shopping in Salem, including hitting Harrison's for their 50%-off sale. I scored a volume of Marvel Masterworks: Fantastic Four (including the classic "This Man . . . This Monster!") and a sexy imported Crossbone Gundam X-1 for less than it would have cost me in Japan. We then headed down to the Cape for Kat/[livejournal.com profile] tisana's Mad Tea Party. I went as the Bellman from "The Hunting of the Snark", Bey went as Grace Slick. We had a lovely time (though the weather was a bit chilly), watched the sun set, ate grilled meat products, played Chez Geek (and got our asses kicked by Kris/[livejournal.com profile] nchanter, who is seriously dangerous at such games), and were generally mad, mad, mad.

-Bey and I drove back to my place that night, and in the morning she got to meet my folks. This went as well as I expected, which is to say fabulously. Everyone charmed everyone else's socks off. I'm very proud to have such wonderful people in my life.

-And then I did some proofreading on a manuscript I have glaring at me, and now I'm posting to LJ. Fin.
