If Well-Begun Is Half-Done . . .
Nov. 29th, 2004 03:01 pm. . . Then half-done must be, like, the equivalent of 3/4s done, yah?
-Am now six hours into a twelve-hour day. Except for a brief period of angst and nausea this morning, mood has been basically good. Had a brief post-lunch sugar coma, but am now on the upswing again. Looking forward to sending the boss to fetch dinner for me. The code is coming along nicely. The stuff I'm responsible for will almost certainly get done.
-And, thanks to all for the support. It's good to know you like me even when I'm whining. (And bless Dame Fortune that it isn't that often . . . )
-And now for more prime number porn: If you need n sequential non-primes, start with (n+1)! + 2. You see, (n+1)! + 2 is guaranteed divisible by 2, (n+1)! + 3 is guaranteed divisible by 3 . . . and (n+1)! + (n+1) is guaranteed divisible by (n+1).

Nov. 29th, 2004 10:45 pm-So, Friday I put in a 12-hour day, and nearly had a nervous breakdown.
-Today I put in a 12-hour day, and it was relatively smooth sailing.
-The reason, of course, is obvious in hindsight. Friday was the day after Thanksgiving, and the cafeteria was closed. Lunch, for me, was Pop-Tarts from the snack machine, and (stupidly) iced tea. I don't usually have caffeine in the afternoon. So, by 4pm, I was:
-A part of me really resents being so at the mercy of chemistry. But, at least when you know the tricks, you can manipulate it right back.

- hyped up on sugar,
- wired on caffeine, which also shot my judgment to shit,
- and had no real food in me to help me cope.
