The World Is A Teeny, Teeny Place
Jan. 4th, 2004 05:41 pm-So, I'm at Jen/
anotherjen's daughter's birthday party, hiding in the kitchen from the children, chatting with Paul/
drsnark. We're talking about roleplaying.
Paul: Yah, I don't game so much these days. When I lived in Chicago, over the course of years I fine-tuned my gaming crowd until we all played in a style we all liked. Smart bunch of people, too. They were serious historians, very into alternate history.
Me: Wait, this was in Chicago? Alternate history? What were their names?
Paul: It's easy to get their names, they're the authors of the GURPS Alternate Earths books...
Me: You used to game with Ken Hite?!? No wonder you couldn't find a comparable gaming group... Oh, and, "you lucky bastard".
